There have always been great surgical options for improving a patient’s body contour, chiefly liposuction, a tummy tuck or an arm lift. There are also good non-surgical options for addressing fat, such as CoolSculpting. Until now, there has never been a technique that gets rid of excess fat and tightens the skin without leaving fairly large scars. Welcome in BodyTite.
BodyTite is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses RFAL or radio frequency-assisted lipolysis. FDA approved for skin tightening, the device works via two points of treatment: one on top of the skin and one under the skin. The energy passes between these two points, heating the tissues from both inside and outside. This destroys the underlying fat cells in the treatment area and leaves your skin tighter and appearing smoother and more youthful.
BodyTite is a truly exciting new addition to Dr. Robert Whitfield’s body contouring tool chest. It is the first non-invasive procedure that he’s seen to deliver surgical results with no downtime and little scarring.
During your BodyTite consultation, Dr. Whitfield will discuss your body contouring goals. He will perform a physical exam, assessing your skin quality, skin laxity, and the degree of excess fat. The procedure is ideal for patients who have small amounts of excess fat, and loose, but not severely-sagging skin.
BodyTite can be performed alone or in conjunction with another procedure such as liposuction or Cellfina for cellulite.
During your BodyTite procedure, Dr. Whitfield will insert a probe though two small surgical incisions in the treatment area. This allows the probe to heat your skin three dimensionally: the dermis, the underlying connective tissue and the deep fat. Built in safeguards prevent the machine from overheating or burning the skin. The benefits of BodyTite are:
The device can be used anywhere on the body where you may have excess fat or loose skin such as the arms, abdomen, breasts, knees, thighs, chin and back.
Your recovery from the procedure will depend on which area or areas you have treated. In general, most patients will experience some post treatment swelling. There is no actual downtime associated with BodyTite, enabling you to return to your daily life immediately. The procedure can performed under local anesthesia in the office.
Costs are going to vary depending on the treatment area and whether or not it is combined with another procedure. On average, the BodyTyte procedure costs between $4,000 – $6,000.
